EU Tariffs Are Coming to an End?

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said that the States should remove tariffs on European imports now that Airbus SE agreed to amend government contracts according to the World Trade Organization’s requests.

France is one of the most significant exports of wine to the States, and tariffs that were introduced in October 2019 are harming France.

European Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan urged Washington to “immediately” lift sanctions on the goods. Otherwise, Brussels warns that it may implement its levies if the US fails to do so.

On top of this, the Trump administration implemented an additional €1.1 billion worth of levies on French imports over the country’s digital tax, albeit the measure will go into effect in 2021.
